Gosainkunda is an alpine freshwater oligotrophic lake in Nepal’s Lantang National Park, located at an altituce of 4,380 m (14,370 ft ) in the Rasuwa District. The lake melts and sips down to form the Trishuli River and remain frozen for six months in winter October to June.The Gosainkunda area has been delineated as religious site. Hindu mythology attributes Gosainkunda as the abode of the hindu deities Lord Shiva and Goddess Gauri. The hindu scriptures Bhagavata Purana and Vishnu Purana and the Hindu epics Ramayana and Mahabharata refer to Samundra manthan, which is directly related to origin of Gosainkunda. Gosainkunda is believed to have formed from the digging of the land by the Trishul ( holy Trident ) of Lord Shiva.
Mt. Kailash is a peak in the Kailas range, which are the part of the Transhimalaya in Tibet. The mountain is situated near the source of some of the longest lake in Asia : the Indus river, the Sutlej river, the Bramaputra river and the Karnali river. It is consideredt be a sacred for mainly four religions : Bon, Buddhist, Hindus and Jainism.
According to the Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva, the destroyer of ignorance and illusion, resides at the summit of Mt. Kailash along with his wife Parvati. Every year, thousands of devotees visit Mt. Kailash in belief that circumambulating Mt. Kailash is a holy ritual which will bring good fortunes.
Pathivara temple is one of the most significant Hindu temples of Goddess Pathibhara in Nepal, located on the hill of Taplejung. It is also considered as one of the holy places for Kirats. Worshippers from different part of Nepal and India flock the temple during special occasions, as it is believed that a pilgrimage to the temple ensures fulfillment of the pilgrims’ desires.
The temple is located 19.4 km east of Phungling municipality at an altitude of 3,794 m ( 28,852 ft ). The pilgrims offers anmal sacrifices, gold and silver to the Goddess Pathibhara. Besides the temple, the waterfall at Sawa and the pond of Timbung near the temple are also worth visiting
Tatopani is situated in the Sindhupalchowk District of Bagmati zone in Centre Development Region. Tatopani is one of the famous place of this district. The place ‘Tatopani’ got its name from the taps situated in the place though which naturally spring water flows. Tatopani is 14 km away from the capital city, Kathmandu. Generally, Sherpas and Tamang are the peoples residing in this place. The place is famous for taking bath in the natural hot water.
Tatopani consists of various high hills. Bhote Khosi river also flows through Tatopani.So, the place is also suitable for rafting.
Halesi Mahadev is situated in the Khotang district of eastern Nepal. The temples lies at the top of small hill inside a beautiful and mysterious natural cave. The cave is quite dark and numerous bats fly here and there. Two holy rivers : Dudh koshi and Sun koshi flows through the temple area making the site worth seeimg. The temple is believed to have been exstince since 6000 years.
There are three myterious caves which are considered to be the three eyes of the Lord Shiva. As we see in the first cave, we see and image of Lord Shiva also called as Haleshwor Mahadev. In the second cave, there is and image of Nandi.There is a custom of performing special ceremonial rites of the Haleshwr Mahadev
